My first attempt creating comic based on the history of my country, SatW style 
background story:
the Indonesian archipelago had been a Dutch colony for about three and a half centuries, but in 1942 The Netherlands surrendered The Dutch East Indies (that's what Indonesia was called during the Dutch occupation) to Japan..
Japan was hit so hard by the end of the WWII from nuclear attack in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Indonesian youths (which became the Founding Fathers of our nation) saw this as an opportunity, thus declaring Independence of the Indonesian Republic in 17 August 1945
(these are the words of my history teacher, cmiiw ) the whole world recognised our independence, except the Netherlands. So they came back in attempt to reconquer our land.
In one city (Surabaya), the Dutch (or the allied forces) army had the flag of the Netherlands flown on the top of a hotel (Hotel Yamato). This enraged Indonesian people, so they climbed and ripped off the blue part of the Dutch flag, making it resembling the Indonesian flag.

...and a great battle ensued, which ended at 10 November 1945, that is now known as 'Hari Pahlawan' (Day of the Heroes) in Indonesia.
...and the pop-star thing is a reference to pop acts (maybe in 90's and early 2000's; and maybe now, too) that shows off bellies while they're singing

I have no idea why.. But i started to sing a song called Vi er røde vi er hvide (transation: We are white we are red) Its a soccer song here in denmark... I have no idea why..
